Normal is boring
Should having a blog be stressful? Cuz it is for me. I was never good at recording my thoughts. When I was little, I'd start a journal then forget about it a week later. Now, I haven't forgotten about this blog; it's just that I have nothing interesting to write about. I'm boring! I have a normal life, with a normal job, and a normal husband, and a normal dog. (Which I'm all very thankful for!!!) Well, the dog isn't always normal but I'll save that story for another post. (Yesss, something to write about)
Back to having nothing to write about. So what am I going to say? Woke up at 8am to a stupid morning show. Showered, dressed, fed the dog then took him out. Needed gas so I stopped by the QT to fill up (that one's always the cheapest). Forgot to set the coffee maker so I stopped by Starbucks for a Grande coffeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. See I just put myself to sleep.
(and yes, I see the irony of writing about having nothing to write about)

You know what?
I don't take enough pictures. I think I'm going to start carrying around my compact camera and make an effort to document what I do. Yeah...

What's my age again
So I've been a fan of Neil Gaiman for a while. I loved his novels: American Gods, Anansi Boys and Good Omens. I enjoy science fiction so these books were a joy to read. Then I started to dig around to see what else he has written. Coraline (which is playing at the theaters - IN 3D!) and Graveyard Book which are in the juvenile fiction genre. They're kind of like horror for kids so it's OK for adults to read, right? Digging a little more, I found that Neil wrote for comics books. Now, I'm not a comic book fan. Not that I have anything against them; it's just that I've never really picked one up. Superhero's are great but corny. Plus I kind of associate them with a 13 year old boys. Anyway, digging around I find that Neil Gaiman wrote a comic book called Sandman.
I hadn't read this but I heard it is incredible so I went over to DC comics website and downloaded the first issue (for free); it is quite good. I even went to the library (tough economic times, gotta save every penny) and found Marvel 1602; another comic book he authored and I loved it. So I guess I like comics books - or graphic novels I guess they're called.Looking around that DC site, I found another one that I've become addicted to; Y The Last Man. Here a link about it on Wikipedia:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Y_The_Last_Man

This one caught my attention on several fronts.
One, it's written by a LOST writer, Brian K Vaughan;
Two, on a recent episode of LOST, Hurley was reading it;

and Three, a woman, Pia Guerra, did the art for it (girl power!).
So... check it out. You can download the first issue at the DC Comics/Vertigo site

It's pretty good
